One Year

Wow! A year ago this coming weekend we will have been in Idaho for one year. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It seems like yesterday we were still in our little house living next to Arvid and Joyce. Living here has been such a blessing for our whole family. The girls are just growing and learning by leaps and bounds every day - they love living here - going to the sand bar, the lakes, having our puppies, playing with friends, going to primary each week. They are so amazing and I am so grateful that they were entrusted to me for this life.

At times I don't even recognize Jeremy anymore - he is just so happy! Our marriage has never been stronger - 9 years in August - and he is such an amazing husband and father. His new job is turning out better than we ever expected and finally feel like he has made a great fit with Sprinter.

My new job is fun and very challenging - I forgot how much I love waitressing. Yesterday was our grand opening and Applebee's was full from about 5:30 until 10:00. I didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. and went right to sleep - the girls were up at 6:30. You've got to love it!

Parents-As-Teachers Party

Today was our final Parents-As-Teachers get together for the year and forever thanks to the great governor of Idaho. What a butthead. P.A.T. is a - correction, was a - state funded program that had teachers come to the homes of children ages 1-5 to teach them a lesson once a month, give the parents materials to work on with their kids to prepare them for kindergarten, and then we also had a group get together once a month. It was a free program that has been wonderful for me and the girls and many of my friends. Statistics show that when kids participate in this program they test much higher and do much better in kindergarten. Apparently that wasn't important to our governor. He cut the funding about a month ago, six weeks after the state representatives had been in session. He didn't consult anyone about the effectiveness of the program, just decided to cut it. He also hasn't said where that money is going. Educating our kids must not be a big priority. This program is really important for families that can't afford to send their kids to preschool. I am obviously very upset about this.

Anyhow, today the final party was at Porter Park in Rexburg - they have a big carousel and a splash park - only it was about 45 degrees today, so their was no swimming, but the girls had a lot of fun on the carousel.
